Celebrate the Pokolbin stalwart's birthday in serious foodie style.
As if we needed another excuse to head to the Hunter Valley this winter. One of the region’s longest-running and most iconic fine-diners, Muse Restaurant, is hosting a Winter Dinner Series, bringing together some of the biggest names in Australian dining. Celebrating its 15th anniversary, Muse’s birthday bash will take place over three unforgettable nights on June 1, July 13 and August 10.
Chefs on the line-up will include Ben Devlin of Pipit Restaurant, Joel Bickford of Shell House and Brent Savage from Bentley Restaurant + Bar (June 1); Lennox Hastie of Firedoor, Victor Moya of Ormeggio at the Spit and Aaron Ward of Bathers’ Pavilion (July 13); and Tom Gorringe from Aria, Alex Prichard of Icebergs Dining Room + Bar and Frank Fawkner from Hunter Valley neighbour EXP. Restaurant (August 10).

Each dinner will showcase a dynamic collaboration between the three guest chefs and Muse. Guests will be treated to a selection of snacks and a glass of Champagne on arrival before experiencing a four-course menu, where each chef will present a course paired with classic Hunter Valley wines.
The contemporary Australian fine-diner has been a favourite of Pokolbin locals and visitors alike since chef/owner Troy Rhoades-Brown opened the Hungerford Hill Winery-based restaurant in 2009, when he was just 24 years old. Since then, countless eager diners have flocked to the sleek venue, beloved for its hyperlocal ethos, innovative food and warm service.
The nearby Muse Kitchen, also in Pokolbin, recently announced its May 19 closure via an email to guests. This publication erroneously reported that Muse Restaurant was to close. This article has now been removed, and we apologise to the restaurant and guests for any confusion caused.
Details on the final menus are shrouded in mystery but we can confirm that diners on night one will be treated to the very special 2009 Tyrrells Vat 1 Semillon and a 2021 Maurice O’Shea, Mount Pleasant. If you know, you know.

The Muse Restaurant Winter Dinner Series is a rare chance to taste bespoke creations by some of the biggest talent in the Australian restaurant industry, and is one not to be missed.
Tickets to the July 13 and August 10 are at capacity however Muse encourages guests to reach out to be placed on the waitlist. You’d better get in quick though, tickets to dinner on June 1 are going (very) fast.
Tickets to the Muse Winter Dinner Series start from $380 per person, including wine pairing. Places are limited, so book your reservation as soon as possible at the Muse Restaurant website.
