Yearning for a taste of the Yarra Valley?

19 of the Yarra Valley’s wineries have joined forces to bring food and wine lovers around Australia The Shortest Lunch at Home.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the annual event – which normally takes place over the winter solstice – it brings together a host of the Yarra Valley’s small wineries and dining experiences for a gastronomical journey through the region’s finest boutique cellar doors.

The 2020 Shortest Lunch was cancelled due to COVID-19, but instead of leaving Aussie oenophiles hanging, the Yarra Valley wineries have banded together to create the Shortest Lunch From Home. (And believe us, it’s a lot better than your standard WFH tuna sandwich.)

The name is a little misleading, because it’s actually a series of shortest lunches. Each one has been designed to allow quarantino vino fiends to tour of the region from the comfort of their respective iso-hangs, without having to worry about any of that wretched coronavirus nonsense. (Which is handy, really, considering that a Victorian vacay looks to be out of the question for a little while longer.)

The Shortest Lunch From Home consists of three unique, carefully curated cases each featuring a dozen unique wines from the participating wineries alongside ideal food pairing tips for each.

Together, they’ll turn your upcoming wine-deprived weekend staycay snoozefest into a vacay vino #win… with very little effort on your part.

The wines range from $24 to $45 in value, so each heavily-reduced $300 case (which includes free delivery Australia-wide) will put you nearly a C-note ahead. Or – for those of you who decide to opt for the mixed six bottle pack – snag you a tidy $40 saving, which is also nothing to sneeze at.

Simply pop, sip and savour. Zero packing required.

Don’t dawdle though, The Shortest Lunch at Home 2020 only runs until Tuesday 30th June, 2020  To purchase, visit the website.
