Tasmania’s Forty Spotted has released a deep crimson pinot noir gin

Forty Spotted Distillery release Tasmanian Pinot Noir Gin

You can’t say ‘no’ to ginot.

Wine or gin? Now you don’t have to decide between your two great loves. What a time to be alive.

While we all enjoy the simplicity of the classics, it’s 2021: the era of the spirit slashie. We can sip ginsecco from a can, enjoy whiskey in capsule form and have petite pouches of small batch vino delivered to our doorsteps.

It’s a wonderful world of pineapple rum, rose vodka, habanero and oyster-based spirits. And now… pinot noir gin.

This latest magical mashup comes to us courtesy of Tasmanian distillery Forty Spotted who, earlier in the year, released a rosy-hued half-strength raspberry and rosé gin

Head distiller Rick Hoedjes said he was inspired to create the limited release pinot noir gin as a nod to his childhood memories of pressing grapes and cycling through the vineyards in Victoria.

The timing of its release couldn’t be better. As autumn settles in and the nights cool down, it’s the perfect way to add little spiceto your evening sip sesh. And the perfect opportunity to reclaim your status as the golden child this Mother’s Day.

The limited release gin combines Tasmanian pinot grapes with juniper, pepper berry and a secret blend of spices. With luscious aromas of raspberry, cherry and plum; and hints of spice, the vivid reddish-purple gin is deliciously sweet and fruity, with delicate citrus tang and warm, spicy finish. Win + gin = win.

There’s also striking new ‘south facing’ (translation: upside down) bottle design to accompany the release, which pays homage to the brand’s ‘bottom of the world’ Tasmanian origins.

Forty Spotted Pinot Noir Gin is a limited release of 2,500 bottles and priced from RRP $89.99. Don’t be sloe, snag one while you can from larkdistillery.com, Costco and premium bottle shops.
