Variety is the spice of life.
You can skip the queues and head to Woolies for your Cinnabon fix this Easter, with Cinnabon Hot Cross Buns now back on Woolworths shelves. Exclusive to Woolworths, the buns come in a four-pack, and feature Cinnabon’s signature cinnamon swirl and an oozy cream cheese filling. But you’d better get your skates on if you want a taste, as they’re only available for a limited time.
The Cinnabon buns first launched in February, and were an immediate hit with customers, selling like hot cakes. Or should that be hot buns?
“We were blown away by the incredible response to our Cinnabon Hot Cross Buns and how quickly they flew off the shelves,” says Donald Keith, Woolworths’ hot cross bun expert and bakery merchandise manager. “It was a necessity that we brought them back in the lead-up to Easter.”

Biscoff hot cross buns have also returned, after making their debut last year.
Keith says that customers also couldn’t get enough of the fairy bread flavour last year.
“It was a fan favourite – and we’re excited to be bringing even more of them to shelves this year,” he says. “Our bakery team worked hard to fine-tune the recipe and deliver an even fluffier dough with white chocolate chips.”

For those among you who prefer to keep the ‘cross’ in your hot cross buns and refuse to budge from convention, old-school traditional fruit HCBs are available in a six-pack. However, if you really want to treat yourself, you can pick up a four pack of ‘luxurious richly fruited’ buns, which come with vine fruits, native cinnamon myrtle, cranberries and candied orange peel. Or you could opt for the apple and cinnamon four-pack, made with sweet cinnamon chips and Pink Lady apples. But if that is just veering too far off the beaten bun for you, you could also hold back a little and limit yourself to the mini fruit nine-pack as penance.
As for those who prefer to keep their buns boring, you can choose a six-pack of fruitless buns to go along with your presumably joyless existence.
Woolworths’ full range of hot cross buns are now available in-store and online. Cinnabon Hot Cross Buns will be available while stocks last.
